Shillong,March 16: Police on Monday arrested former Balachanda MDC Sofiur Rahman.
According to the police, Rahman was arrested from his residence at Bhaitbari

The arrest was made in the morning, based on his speeches and posts, which were in a communal tone, resulting in violence.
He was arrested U/S 192/196(1)/353(1)(2)/57 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, R/w Sec 6A/8B MMPO Act R/w Sec. 8A/11 MMPO(Autonomous District Council) Act.
