Shillong, April 14: Former Congress MLA from Sohiong constituency Nit Shabong (84) passed away on Friday around 4.30 am at his residence in Kynsew.
He is survived by his wife, ten children and many grand children.

Shabong, the first Congress MLA from the area, represented Sohiong from 1983 to 1988.
His relatives informed that the funeral will be held on April 16 at 2 pm at Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Kynsiew.
Shabong’s son S Osborne Kharjana is contesting the adjourned Sohiong election on May 10.
