Shillong, May 3: Four games including two women’s and two men’s games witnessed a spirited yet friendly toughening from the get go on the third day of Farmers’ World Cup on Wednesday.
The third day’s match of Farmers’ World Cup kicked off with men’s Marngar 1 Vs West Garo Hills, where the host team Marngar FC managed to secure the match by 1-0 against the West Garo Hills team. In the second match between Marngar 2 Women’s team Vs West Garo Hills, neither side managed to score.
Same was the case with the South West Garo Hills and South Garo Hills as neither of the two teams managed to score goals despite many attempts.
The final match of the day was spiced up between Marngar 1 Women’s FC vs South Garo Hills Women FC, as the former team scored high, defeating the West Garo Hills team by 4-0.
Mary Syngkli of Marngar women’s team was ecstatic, “I never thought I could play football again, today, I am very happy for my team and my children are happy too for me.”
