Shillong, Oct 19: TMC member George Lyngdoh on Thursday did not want to make any comments on NPP approaching him to contest the Shillong Lok Sabha seat.
“As of now, no comments, let people know at the right time”, Lyngdoh said on phone.
The TMC state president Charles Pyngrope said that anyone can leave the party when asked about the reports that the NPP wanted TMC vice president George to contest the Lok Sabha seat.
“I heard about the matter, but I don’t know the details, for the party members who are not MLAs,there are no hurdles to leave any party”, he said.
In this context, sources admitted division within the NPP- one group favouring George and another HM Shangpliang, who recently joined the NPP from the BJP.
Shangpliang is another ticket aspirant.
