Shillong,Dec 23: The health department has issued advisory due to Covid surge.
In a statement issued on Friday, the principal secretary, health department said there has been a recent surge in Covid cases observed in countries outside India.
“Although there is no reason for any panic, in view of the festive season, it is hereby advised that the general public may adhere to Covid appropriate behaviour by wearing mask in crowded indoor places and adopt good hand hygiene practices”, the statement said.
The government advised the travellers who have come from outside the country to carefully monitor their symptoms for at least 7 days from their time of arrival to the state.
“On any suspicion of Covid symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat, they are encouraged to immediate test themselves for Covid in any of the testing facilities across the state”, the government said.
