Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Ampareen said, “We will deal stringently and strictly with any such activity in the State of Meghalaya. We will disallow it. We will go all out against insurgency activities”.

She congratulated the Meghalaya police for busting the outfit. “I congratulate the police force for having done the correct thing and this arrest sends a big message to others that we will say no to insurgency. Like we have said in the past, we say no to insurgency.”

To a question whether militancy was a reflection of unemployment and poor economic conditions in the state, Lyngdoh said, “It cannot be connected like that because unemployment is a phenomenon which challenges any nation.”
