HYC concerned over delay in declaration of results by MPSC

Shillong, Aug 22: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) has asked the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to declare the results for the posts of assistant engineer in the community & rural development (C&RD) department.
In a letter to the Chairman of MPSC, HYC general secretary Roy Kupar Synrem said, “The Commission should take necessary steps to declare the list of successful candidates in the written examination and call for the interview of such candidates at the earliest and complete the whole process of recruitment within a considerable period of time and
failing which we will have no option but to agitate and hold protest programmes against the commission”
Synrem said the delay in declaration of results for the written examination by the Commission raises serious doubts about the transparency in the process of recruitment as well as this has also affected the applicants both mentally and economically.
“Prolonged delay will also lead to major problem of over-aging of majority of these applicants in the future,” he added.
The MPSC had called application for filling up of 35 posts of assistant engineer in the C&RD department.
On March 3, it was informed to all the applicants that the written examination was to be held on March 18, 2023 in the two centres at Shillong and Tura.
The examination was conducted on the date and time for the 1000 plus applicants by using OMR sheets.
However, more than 5 months have passed since the conduct of the written examination but till date the results have not been declared, he said.
Using OMR sheets in different examinations provide for a faster processing and results preparation with optimum efficiency and minimum error, the HYC pointed out.
