Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told reporters on Monday that besides imposing curfew, there will be restrictions on movement of vehicles.

The government will resort to odd even numbers for private vehicles to ply in East Khasi Hills.

The visitors to the state should produce Covid test reports taken within 72 hours despite having double vaccination certificates. If the visitors don’t have these documents, they will be tested at the entry point, the chief minister said.

Conrad said mass gatherings will also be restricted.
