Shillong, April 25: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has said relocation of Harijan Colony is a must.
“If you ask me whether the government will go ahead with the proposal, the proposal is very clear as I said to you from day one relocation has to take place whatever you say,” Tynsong told reporters on Tuesday.

The Harijan Panchayat Committee (HPC) has already rejected the government’s proposal and the blueprint to relocate the 342 families of Harijan Colony from Them Iew Mawlong to the existing land of the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB).
The matter came up for hearing in the High Court of Meghalaya on April 24 but it was deferred to June 7.
