Shillong, May 12: Commissioner and Secretary of Health Dr Joram Beda has authored a new book that seeks to broaden contemporary discourse on one of the most fundamental questions in science and philosophy — the true nature and role of information in reality.
An official statement said that titled ‘Nature of Information: Shaping Reality, Life, and Consciousness’, the book has been published by UK-based Routledge, a leading global academic publisher under the Taylor & Francis Group.
The work offers an interdisciplinary exploration of information across physics, biology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, philosophy and consciousness studies. The book argues that information may not merely describe reality, but may act as a foundational organising principle — perhaps even the fabric of reality itself.
By drawing upon insights from multiple disciplines, the book examines the role of information in life, mind, consciousness, knowledge systems, artificial intelligence and the broader structure of reality. It contributes to contemporary discussions at the intersection of science, philosophy, cognition and technology.
The publication has also begun gaining international visibility across major digital platforms. It recently secured the No. 1 position on Amazon India’s “Hot New Releases” list in the Metaphysics category and also appeared among the Top 10 titles in Amazon India’s Metaphysics bestseller listings.
