Health workers’ association against online sale of medicines, fake prescriptions

Shillong, Nov 26: The Meghalaya Health Care  Association has opposed online sale of medicines unless regulated by law.

Vice president of  the association, David Kharsati told reporters that the concen is not the issue of online sale as such but the entry of  Tata 1 MG and Flipkart will affect chemists, retailors and will lead to unemployment.

The general secretary, Barun Chakraborty and member Lumlang S Lyngdoh said the fear is about manipulation of  prescriptions.

The authenticity of the drugs and doctors’ prescriptions are under question in online trade,  Lyngdoh said.
