Shillong, March 27: The HNLC has appointed the Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) president Sadon K Blah to represent the outfit while having peace talks with the interlocutors appointed by the government.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the HNLC general secretary-cum-publicity secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw said, “We have appointed Bah Sadon Blah President HNYF as our representative, who shall communicate with the government appointed interlocutors Bah Peter.S.Dkhar(Retd IAS) and Shri A.K.Mishra, Advisor MHA Northeast (Retd IPS) to pursue the peace talks.This is again a positive step towards achieving peace.”
The HNLC hoped that the representative and the interlocutors will work hand in hand to bring forth peace and stability, and, they would also play crucial role in their respective capacities.
The HNLC thanked the Khasi Jaintia Church Leaders Forum (KJCLF) for expressing willingness to become part of the peace process.
“The HNLC also hopes that this step would surely create a conducive atmosphere to take things forward to the negotiating table in a better perspective,” Nongtraw added.
