Shillong, July 19: The HNLC and Seng Samla Mawlai Pyllun have asked the state government to make public the probe report into the killing of its former leader Cherishtarfield Thangkhiew on August 13, last year.
Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, HNYF president Sadon Blah said, “The HNLC would like to make it clear that the state government must make public the findings of the Justice T Vaiphei inquiry committee regarding the assassination of late Cherishtarfield Thangkhiew.”
Blah, who is HNLC representative for the peace talks, said he does not see any reason why the government should delay in making public the findings of the committee.
Later, the Seng Samla Mawlai Pyllun met Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui regarding the matter.
The president of the organisation, Samuel Biam wanted the government to release the report at the earliest.
The report will be maximum only 50 l and any class XII student will be able to finish reading the 50 pages in two days, Blah said.
