Shillong, Mar 2: A self styled personal security officer (PSO) belonging to Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) was arrested from the city on Saturday morning.
Police said acting on a tip off, a team of East Khasi Hills police arrested the 41-year-old HNLC man identified as Storgy Lyngdoh from his residence at Mawlynrei, Khliehshnong Block-C.
Police recovered one mobile phone along with one Banglalink SIM card and one Indian Airtel SIM card besides a 1GB SD memory card.
Police said his involvement in activities such as extortion, regrouping, and mobilising support of sympathisers for anti-national and violent causes is being further probed.
