Shillong, Feb 10: The banned HNLC has sent a letter for unconditional talks with the government,.on Thursday.
The development comes after the government insisted for the letter after the militant group expressed its willingness for talks without any conditions, on Tuesday.

Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui told reporters that since the HNLC wanted the appointment of an interlocutor, the government has already shortlisted the names.
The government will send the selected name for consideration of the militant group following which the matter will be informed to the Centre.
The home minister termed the development as good for the state.
