Home-made scrubs for hands to keep skin soft & bright
Your hands require proper care, or else they suffer from dry skin, dead skin deposits, dull skin and premature ageing. It is essential to understand that just like you take care of your face, the skin on your hands also requires a skincare routine and proper regimen to look healthy and beautiful.
For this reason, it is important to exfoliate to keep the skin soft and supple.
Homemade scrubs to soften your hands:
Coffee scrub
Coffee helps brighten the skin, making it smooth and appear youthful, so why not use it as a scrub for your hands too? This potent scrub is good when you need instant brightening and skin tightening.
In a mixing bowl, add ½ cup of ground coffee with a tablespoon of coconut oil. Apply it all over your hands, gently massage it in circular motions for 5 minutes. Rinse off.
Brown sugar
Natural exfoliator helps remove dead cells from the skin and helps soften your hands. Ideal for times when you need an instant skin softener made with natural ingredients. Mix ½ cup brown sugar with an equal amount of almond oil or olive oil. Scrub your hands in gentle circular motions for 5 minutes. Rinse off with water.
Sea salt
With its antibacterial properties, it is one potent remedy that relieves certain skin conditions, also it is also a natural preservative. That means you can prepare the scrub and keep it in an air-tight container to be used later. However, remember to use grounded sea salt. This scrub can be ideal for removing ingrown hairs, too.
In a mixing bowl, add ½ cup sea salt with an equal amount of carrier oil like coconut oil. Use 2-3 drops of essential oil like lavender oil. Transfer it to a clean container. Apply it and scrub the skin of your hands. Rinse off.
Almond and honey scrub
Honey helps relieve dryness, refines the skin texture, while almond helps in exfoliating the skin without harming it or damaging it. Therefore, it is an ideal scrub for sensitive skin.
Grind a handful of almonds, mix in ½ teaspoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of milk. Mix it well and massage it on your hands for two minutes. Rinse off. Remember, it’s a one-time use scrub because milk is added to it.
Lemon sugar scrub
Sugar, when mixed with lemon, acts as a softening agent for the skin, while also serving as a brightening solution to remove tan and dead skin cells. Adding coconut oil ensures it moisturises while exfoliating the skin.
Mix ½ cup of granulated sugar, 1 lemon zest, ¼ cup coconut oil, with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Mix it well and massage it on your hands for a minute or two. Rinse off.
Remember, these homemade scrubs are not only easy to make, but also supply ample moisture and refine the texture of your skin. Use the scrubs as mentioned earlier once a week or twice. Choose the one that suits your requirement and your skin type.
