House pays tribute to Sunn, Assembly secretariat notifies vacancy in Mawphlang
First MLA to die when Assembly is in session: CM
Shillong, Sept 13: The Assembly on Monday paid eloquent tribute to sitting Mawplang MLA SK Sunn, who passed away on September 10.
The Assembly Secretariat has also notified vacancy in Mawplang consituency following his death.
Before proceeding with the question hour, the Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh announced the need to condole the death of Sunn.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma (in picture) said that Sunn is the first MLA who died when the Assembly was in session.
He also informed that Sunn was to take up a pending special motion on Monday.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, cabinet ministers , Lahkmen Rymbui, Hamlet Dohling, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar, , Dasakhiat Lamare, Leader of Opposition, Mukul Sangma, Congress legislators PT Sawkmie, Zenith Sangma, HM Shangpliang, Mayralborn Syiem, Ampareen Lyngdoh, Miani D Shira,BJP MLA AL Hek, KHNAM member Adelbert Nongrum, NPP MLA Ferlin Sangma, independent legislator Lambor Malngiang and others recalled his contribution and unique qualities of raising issues relevant to people and environment, in the Assembly.
