HSPDP for Khasi-Jaintia state to address reservation issue

Shillong, July 5: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) has stressed the need of having a Khasi-Jaintia state to address the issue of reservation policy.
After the central executive committee meeting on Tuesday, the party wanted a review of the 50-year-old state reservation policy.
Speaking to reporters, HSPDP president KP Pangniang said the members of the party have expressed concern and felt that there is a need to relook and review the state reservation policy for the best interest and equal opportunity of the youth.
“We have decided to sit and deeply think to relook or review this reservation policy. After examining it, we can put forward the reservation policy as one of the important issues in the party election manifesto or suggest the best solution to the government on what needs to be done,” he said.
