Shillong, Apr 25: HYC has decided to meet Shillong Cantonment Board to evict illegal settlers near the Fire Station at Motphran.
.A delegation of HYC visited the slum area on Thursday.

HYC president Roykupar Synrem told reporters that checking was taken up after receiving several complaints about the increasing drug trafficking and the presence of illegal settlers including Rohingya refugees on a plot of land belonging to the Shillong Cantonment Board near the Fire Service.
According to HYC , they do not have valid documents.
Synrem said 90-100 houses of illegal settlers are there in the small plot of land.
“We found majority of them do not have EPIC cards of Meghalaya as they have come from other states of the country,” he said.
