Shillong, March 24: Nongthymmai MLA Charles Pyngrope (TMC) wanted the state government to modify the proposed multi-crore world class sky walk project from Khyndailad to Barik to include a monorail.
Raising a supplementary question in the Assembly on Friday, Pyngrope said the proposed skywalk will only help pedestrians and it will not ease traffic congestion.

He suggested the need to include a monorail in the project to address the issue of traffic congestion.
According to the MLA, the monorail system can ferry passengers as this will be a more viable option than just a walkway.
It can start as a pilot project starting from Laitumkhrah to Police Bazar.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong assured to examine the suggestion.
