Indore residents ‘collect clothes’ for Ranveer
Indore, July 26 (UNI): Amid a controversy in the wake of a nude photo shoot involving Bollywood heartthrob Ranveer Singh, this city – the cleanest in India – witnessed a unique protest on Tuesday when numerous local youngsters carried a large container wherein clothes were collected for the actor.
The receptacle bore the slogan ‘Swachh Indore ne thaana hai, desh se maansik kachra bhi hataana hai’ (Clean Indore is determined to dispose of the country’s mental garbage as well). Singh’s picture was denounced as ‘Sankat mein Bollywood, maansik kachra’ (Bollywood in crisis, mental refuse.)
A related video is going viral on social media. The location is in the vicinity of a ‘neki ki deewar’ (wall of generosity). Such walls – present in almost every major city of Madhya Pradesh – are places where old clothes and other material are donated for the needy.
