Shillong, Sept 6: An infant boy was abandoned inside the premises of the Lawei Baphyrnai Children’s Home for Boys at Langkyrding Block-2, Shillong on September 3.
A statement issued by the government on Monday said the infant is now under the care and protection of the Child Welfare Committee, Shillong.

The government said anyone having any sort of information regarding the whereabouts of the biological parents/mother or relatives of the infant can inform the Child Welfare Committee, Shillong at the earliest.
The child will be declared legally free for adoption, if no response is made within a period of two months.
