Shillong, July 18: Cabinet ministers James Sangma and Sniawbhalang Dhar from the NPP were absent during the presidential poll, on Monday.
NPP leader and government chief whip Marcuise Marak said James had sent a letter and similarly ‘others while some were trying to cast votes in Delhi’..
Marak is not sure whether they exercised their franchise in Delhi.
An election official said they cannot vote in Delhi as information.should have been provided to the returning officer in Delhi 10 days in advance.
When the state election officials recently collected election materials from Delhi, there was no information about the duo.
Besides the NPP MLAs, AITC legislator Marthon Sangma missed the poll as he tested positive for Covid, according to the AITC.
