‘JD(U) withdrawing support proves there’s no peace in Manipur’

New Delhi, Jan 22 (UNI); The Congress on Wednesday said the withdrawal of support by JD(U) from the BJP-led Manipur government proves that the Narendra Modi government has failed to establish peace in Manipur.

On its social media handle X, Congress said that with the withdrawal of support from the BJP, Nitish Kumar also confirmed that there is no peace in Manipur.

The party said, “For the last two years, Manipur has been burning due to violence and the situation is getting worse. Even after this Narendra Modi has not visited the state”.

The party further said that this shows that, Narendra Modi is not concerned about the pain and suffering of the people of Manipur. “Modi has failed on every front,” the party said.

Meanwhile, Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh took a dig at the BJP saying that “are these signs of political climate change?”

On his social media handle X, Ramesh said, “Today JDU withdrew support from the BJP government in Manipur. Yesterday, it protested against the new UGC rules brought in by the Modi government to regulate appointments to top posts in all universities”.

“Are these signs of political climate change?” Ramesh quipped.

It may be mentioned that the Manipur unit of the JD(U) has decided to withdraw support to the BJP-led government in the state.

JDU National spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, however, rejected the news as “misleading and baseless”.
