JNC inspects Jowai secretariat site; follows up with govt on Iawmusiang & smart town
Shillong, Feb 28: Members of the Jaintia National Council (JNC) western zone led by its president Leo Ferdinand Dhar and General Secretary Heibormi Lyngdoh on Tuesday inspected the site for a mini secretariat in Jowai.
While appreciating the government for starting the secretariat construction, the council requested the authorities not to stop the work halfway.
Last September, JNC apprised Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar of the delay in the construction of the Jowai secretariat.
In a statement on Wednesday, JNC also mentioned the Iawmusiang building complex in Jowai that was “a long-pending demand of the Jaiñtias” and requested the government to start the project soon.
It also asked the government to revise the budget for the smart town project for Jowai.
