Shillong, Aug 3: A joint panel to be headed by the Shillong Municipal Board CEO will be formed to address the concerns regarding Marten, Mawiong where garbage is dumped.
This was decided during the meeting of Municipal and Urban Affairs Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar with Seng Samla Mawlai Pyllun.

The Seng Samla wants the committee to explore alternative dumping sites and setting up of proper facility for treating bio- medical waste at Marten.
On July 21, the Seng Samla had locked the gate of Marten in protest against the delay on the part of government to find solution to the overflowing of garbage at Marten.
