Shillong, August 12: A Jowai-based artist has won the Crystal Award 2021 for excellence in art.
The fourth edition of the award by Riti Academy was presented on Thursday at Raj Bhavan. Wanhi-I Challam of Chilliang Raij received it from governor Satya Pal Malik.

Malik emphasised the need for art education in the state at the graduate and post graduate levels as well as advanced studies in visual arts. He lauded the efforts of Riti Academy and urged the state government to provide necessary support in this regard.
Among other guests were FR Kharkongor, Commissioner & Secretary, Arts and Culture Department, and Raphael Warjri, Chief Art Director, Riti Academy.
