Shillong, Dec 18: The death anniversary of U Soso Tham was observed in the city on Saturday with the release of a poetry collection on the occasion.
Badaplin War, a professor of Khasi language at NEHU-Shillong, released her book of poems titled Ha Ki Thapniang Ka Por (Ka Thup Poitri), at a programme organised by the Khasi Authors’ Society.

The poetry collection was an apt tribute to the great poet whose words and thoughts encompass time and distance and has deep connection with the philosophy that Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore had expressed in his writings.
Assembly speaker Metbah Lyngdoh spoke about the poet and philosopher who gave Khasi language a unique dimension in the modern literary world. He later released the book.
