KSU rescues two girls from spa

Shillong, March 18: Khasi Students’ Union members of Delhi unit with the help of Special Police Unit for North East Region (SPUNER).rescued two girls from a spa

The girls hailing from Jaintia Hills are aged 15 and 18.

According to the KSU, they were offered jobs in New Delhi but were taken to the national capital by another person from Meghalaya who is working in Delhi, without informing their parents.

“They were told that they will be working as domestic help but when they reached Delhi they were taken to a Spa in Haryana, where they were forced into sex trade,” the KSU said.

The girls contacted their families, who informed the KSU Delhi unit for assistance.

The KSU Delhi unit contacted SPUNER resulting in the rescue.

The SPUNER rescue team consisted of sub Inspector Ngalung Wung,  ASI Naveen Kumar, HC Satish Kumar and W/CT Lalrinhluni.

Marbiang Khongwir, President of KSU Delhi unit, asked the youths and the parents to be cautious while searching for jobs outside the state.

Khongwir said the KSU with the help of authorities are counseling the teenagers.

The KSU thanked MLA Kyrmen Shylla for arranging flight tickets of the two girls.
