Laban Bengalee Boys’ HS School lines up events for centenary celebrations

Shillong, Sep 20: Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School on Tuesday organised an inter-school debate competition as part of its year-long centenary celebrations.
The topic of the debate was pertinent to the new age of technology — Social Media Makes A person Socially Inactive. Debraj Purkayasthya Chyrmang of St Edmund’s Higher Secondary School bagged the champion’s trophy and Arti Muskat of Laban Bengalee Girls’ Higher Secondary School got the runner-up trophy. Nine schools participated in the event.
The school, which started as a primary section for local children in 1923, will celebrate 100 years next year. The celebrations have already started and as part of this, there will be a quiz competition on Wednesday and Science seminar on Thursday.
