Shillong, July 12: A landslide occurred on the intervening night of July 11-12 at 101 area, Upper Shillong.
Sources said that the reason could be poor maintenance, use of poor quality materials and non-adherence to set standard by NHIDCL Shillong.

The fall of wall resulted in traffic congestion and inconvenience to the defence personnel, local residents and tourist vehicles proceeding to & fro Cherrapunji ( Sohra) area. This could have avoided had NHIDCL stuck to contractual agreement of the project, sources added.
