LP, UP school teachers to be regularised

Shillong,July 26: The state cabinet on Tuesday decided to regularise the services of government LP & UP & non-government teachers appointed by the Administrator/Deputy Inspector of Schools post 1994 up to 2007.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told reporters that when the state government took over the LP schools in 1993 from district councils  large number of teachers had been shifted to government and they had become regular government employees and in the process, almost 2447 teachers were left out for regularisation. For all these years, the teachers have been receiving regular salary in terms of scale as the process was not followed properly which means they were not receiving pension or ACPS. With this decision, they will now be regularised to receive the benefits accordingly.
