Malchapara, Salbari residents in WKH against land swap deal
Shillong, March 9: The representatives of Malchapara and Salbari under Gizang sector in West Khasi Hills, have decided to be part of Meghalaya instead of Assam.
As per the proposed border agreement, it was recommended that the 100 per cent Garo villages-Malchapara and Salbari- will be part of Assam.

Jewash Sangma from Malchapara said the voice of the majority was not taken into account while dealing with the matter.
Kraibin Sangma, the traditional head of Salbari, also rejected the recommendation of the regional committees by stating that proper discussion was not held.
