Shillong, Mar 8: Following the announcement of the first list of candidates, including Vincent Pala (Shillong seat) and Saleng Sangma(Tura) for Lok Sabha polls by the AICC on Friday , Pala said many TMC members will be joining the party especially in Garo Hills.
Pala said that with the clearance of the names, the party is ready for the poll battle.
Earlier, media speculation was that there will be a common candidate supported by both the Meghalaya Trinamool Congress and the Congress for the Tura seat.
However, with the announcement of the candidature of Saleng, the TMC is left with making its own choice whether to contest the Tura seat or not.
Sources said that while the TMC has decided not to put up any nominee in Shillong, the party is exploring to field a candidate likely Zenith Sangma in Tura
