Shillong, March 4: Pressure groups, including HITO and HYC protested at Motphran setting deadline till March 7 for the two HSPDP MLAs to return to the regional alliance as the Conrad- led cabinet is set to take oath on the same day.
Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, senior NPP member Timothy Shira was sworn in as the pro tem Speaker to enable the MLAs to take oath on March 6.

The care taker chief minister Conrad Sangma said the entire cabinet will be sworn in on Tuesday.
He also downplayed the demand of some pressure groups regarding HSPDP MLAs by saying that the MLAs are mature enough.
He said the government is committed to ensure law and order.
