Shillong, Apr 15: The Eastern West Khasi Hills District Cricket Association (EWKHDCA) romped to a nine-wicket victory over the West Jaintia Hills District Cricket Association (WJHDCA) in the opening Zone 1 match of the MCA U-16 Boys Inter-District Tournament 2025 in Mukhla Mission, West Jaintia Hills, on Tuesday.
EWKHDCA is the newest district cricket association to be affiliated with the Meghalaya Cricket Association and they tore through the WJHDCA batting line-up after the latter won the toss and chose to bat first.
That decision did not work out for the hosts, who were bowled out for just 30 in 16 overs. No WJH batter got into double figures, while Dabetbhalang Kharjana (3/2 in 3 overs) and Keeperwellson Sun (3/12 in 6 overs) took six wickets between them, with the other four batters being dismissed via run out.
EWKH lost one wicket in the chase but otherwise had no difficulties. They required just 11.2 overs to knock off the target, with Dabetbhalang (16 not out from 10 balls) hitting a six to get his side across the finish line.
On Wednesday, Shillong Cricket Association A will face West Khasi Hills DCA from 8:30 am.
