MDA-2 intact, to complete full term: Dy CM
Shillong, June 23: NPP leader Prestone Tynsong on Friday the coalition partners in the MDA-2, including the UDP are committed and the government will complete the full five year- term.
“The current dispensation as far as the state government is concerned, we are all intact and we are all committed, we will complete the whole term of 2023 up to 2028. The UDP members are our closest friends so we will continue and we will sail together,” Prestone told reporters on Friday.
The UDP leadership was unhappy after the NPP toppled the UDP-led EC in the KHADC with the support of the Congress.
Regarding the UDP’s allegation that he engineered the change of guard in KHADC, the deputy chief minister said how the UDP can blame him for toppling the EC when he is not even a nominated member of the council.
“See I am not even a nominated member of the district council, so how can UDP blame me that I am the one who toppled the previous EC so please ask from them how could it be Prestone toppled the EC since I am not even a nominated member of the KHADC,” he said.
On the allegations that the former PDF MLAs had put a condition that the KHADC chief Titosstarwell Chyne should be ousted, Prestone said, “See out of frustration, out of discontentment, any leader when they reach this situation sometimes they tend to talk like this, blaming others means that he does not accept that maybe the mistake starts from him”.
