Shillong, Aug 31: The All Meghalaya Midday Meal Workers Union (AMMMWU) on Wednesday temporarily called off its protest and gave the state government time till November to complete the process for enhancing the honorarium, said advisor to the union KL Pariat.

The union delegation met government representatives on Wednesday in the presence of Commissioner & Secretary of Education Dr BDR Tiwari. The former was assured that their monthly honorarium will be hiked.

Pariat said the agitation will start in December if the government fails to fulfil the demand.
