Meghalaya beat Tripura by 10 wickets in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
Shillong, Nov 8: Meghalaya on Monday beat Tripura by 10 wickets in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match at ACA Stadium in Vijayawada.
Tripura won the toss and decided to bat, scoring 146/10 in 20 overs. The Tripura batsmen were checked by the Meghalaya bowlers Akash Kumar, who took 2 wickets in three overs giving 24 runs, and CG Khurana, who took 2 wickets in four overs sparing 21 runs.
“It’s a great feeling to win any game but so far the games I have played this is the biggest victory in terms of wicket in T-20 and I am feeling good to contribute for the team,” Akash Kumar said.
The Meghalaya batsmen reached the target in 18 overs without losing a wicket. For Meghalaya, Kishan scored 85 runs off 47 balls and Khurana scored 52 runs off 45 balls.
“It was a good game as we defeated them quite comfortably. We should have restricted them (Tripura) to around 130. But both the openers killed it today, did not give any chance to the opposition to come back into the game,” added Akash.
