Meghalaya Contingency Fund increased to Rs 505 crore
Shillong, Aug 10: The cabinet has approved the proposal to increase the corpus of the Meghalaya Contingency Fund by Rs 200 crore from Rs 305 crore.
Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said as there were several projects and “since the amount has been already utilised because of different expenditures”, the fund has to be increased to Rs 505 crore.

The cabinet approved the amendment of the Meghalaya FRS & SRS 1984 and the Meghalaya Delegation of Financial Powers Rule, 2006
Sangma said the proposal was to facilitate the director of dairy development in discharging his/her duties and exercising the powers and functions as head of department under the Meghalaya FRS & SRS, 1984 and the Meghalaya Delegation of Financial Powers’ Rule, 2006.
