State cricket body president dismisses coach & manager, suspends secretary

Shillong, June 27: Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) president James Sangma dismissed coach Hemant Roy and the team manager Sanjay Mondol based on the report of the state women’s commission regarding sexual harassment charge made by six under 23-women cricketers.
James also suspended the MCA secretary, Raynold Kharkmani, for his failure to give ear to the complaints of the victims.
Regarding former MCA president Nababrata Bhattacharjee, former treasurer Drubajyoti Thakuria and the manager, operations, Shining Star Lyngdoh, who had also allegedly ignored the complaints of the victims, James said the report of the commission will be forwarded to the Obdusman for necessary action.
The action was following submission of two reports by the state women’s commission.
