Meghalaya cyclists secure medals in Arunachal event

Shillong, Nov 23: Meghalaya cyclists secured medals in a completion held in Arunachal Pradesh.

The 6th Edition of National Level MTB Tawang Cycling Competition was organised by Arunachal Cycling Association and Cycling Federation of India on November 18 and 19.

A team of 10 cyclist athletes from Meghalaya participated in the race and they have made the state proud by bagging 10 medals in various disciplines of the event which was held in the tough and rugged terrains of Arunachal Pradesh at high altitudes and saw participants from all over the country  including those from Nepal.

This is the first time that the State Cycling Association has seen a great success with the sport of cycling constantly evolving.

The state association had conducted a couple of training programmes for the athletes a few weeks before the event and the results have
been promising.

Bronze

Men Junior XCO Mass start – Lambormi Phawa – Bronze

Men Junior XCO relay – Lambormi Phawa and Dalenmi Sana – Silver

Men Elite -XCO Relay – Kevinjohn Khyllait and Alvindarison Wanniang – Bronze
Three cyclist athletes won consolation prizes

Men Elite – XCO Mass Start – Maxius Wanniang 4th rank and Middlestar N Marak
5th rank
6.
Men Junior – XCO Mass Start – Dalenmi Sana 4th rank .

The association congratulated all the participants and also the team who has been
involved all throughout the process with their support.
