Shillong, Sept 29: With the appointment of Rebecca Suchiang, Meghalaya got its first indigenous woman chief secretary.
Rebecca was appointed the chief secretary on Wednesday as the current chief secretary MS Rao is retiring on September 30.

P P Trivedi was the first woman chief secretary of Meghalaya.
Rebecca will officially take over the charge on Thursday.
