MSL 2023: District sports associations get Rs 2 lakh

Shillong, June 18: As part of the final day of the Meghalaya State League 2023 on Saturday, cheques of Rs 2 lakh were distributed to all the district sports associations affiliated to the Meghalaya Football Association to recognise their efforts in holding local leagues in their respective areas.

This is one of the efforts of the MFA and the state government, which fully financed the MSL, to strengthen the football infrastructure in all districts and create a pathway to further success. This support for local bodies has resulted in a steady increase of teams (who have to come through participating associations), from 19 clubs in the inaugural MSL in 2017-18 to 25 this year.
