Shillong, May 23: Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma has criticised the Centre and the State government for their delay in resolving the crisis in North Eastern Hill University (NEHU).
“It is the job of both the Centre and the State to sit and find the irritants and resolve the issue once and for all,” Sangma told reporters on Friday.
The former chief minister said it is not even pleasant to discuss the issue as the delay to resolve the ongoing crisis in NEHU has only affected the name and fame of the Central University, which everyone used to take pride of.
“Therefore, it is urged upon the state and centre to ensure this issue is resolved at the earliest so that the name and fame of the University is not allowed to be defaced,” Mukul said.
