Illegal coal mining is a cognizable offence but the government has not taken any pro-active steps to take action against those involved, Mukul told reporters on Thursday.
According to the opposition leader, many reports of BP Katakey committee and complaints from others should be acted upon by the government and other concerned agencies.
“Since the goverment is not acting, there is complicity on the part of many authorities concerned, including the CS, DGP, NGT and even Coal India Limited”, Mukul added.
