Shillong, May 11: Former chief minister and TMC MLA Mukul Sangma on Thursday criticised the MDA government for not doing anything prior to the elections when the court insisted on roster system.

According to Mukul, the government  meticulously diverted the issue thereby depriving the job seekers.

“The government had self-centric motives as they sat on the jobs which means they did not  want to pay. Where did they divert money meant for jobs, the people have to take on the government”, he said.

He also urged every one to have analytical mind to understand the implications of review of job reservation policy.

“I have tried to prevail upon my colleagues that less we discuss it, it is better for us”, he said.

Instead of discussing the matter, the focus should be on creation of more job opportunities for the people of the state, he said.

Mukul also acknowledged the historic decision to have reservation policy and added that the people of Meghalaya have benefitted from the policy.
