Nepal women’s team coach unhappy with accommodation

Shillong, Oct 23: Nepal head coach Nabin Neupane on Thursday expressed unhappiness over lack of proper accommodation facilities for the team.
“Except accommodation, other things are okay, the coach informed during a press conference.
Nepal will take on Iran in the Women’s Tri-Nation International Tournament at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Polo Ground, Shillong.
After the press conference, when asked, the head coach wanted to why this discrimination as India and Iran teams are accommodated in good hotels.
‘We were put up in a hostel of Institute of Hotel Management”, he added.
Earlier, after their arrival, the Iran coach had also expressed concern over not getting enough time for practice and wanted the first match to be postponed as they were tired but it was not accepted.
Earlier, speaking at the pre-match press conference, Nabin said his team is well-prepared and determined to secure all three points. Neupane, who has visited Shillong before, acknowledged that both India and Iran are strong opponents but expressed confidence in his team’s readiness to give their best performance over the full 90 minutes.
Islamic Republic Iran head coach Marziyeh Jafaribaravati praised the Nepal team, describing them as a strong side, and said the upcoming clash would be an exciting contest.
She added that her squad has been working to correct its shortcomings and is fully focused on delivering a strong performance.
Soon after the press conference the Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, DD Shira, formally unveiled the tournament trophy at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The ceremony was attended by the coaches and captains of all three participating teams, along with officials of the Meghalaya Football Association.
