New role for Chief Information Commissioner
Cabinet nod to H. Nongpluh as non-judicial member of state human rights commission
Shillong, Sept 25: The cabinet on Wednesday approved the appointment of Heimonlang Nongpluh, IPS (Retd.) as member (Non-Judicial) of the Human Rights Commission.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma announced the decision.

The vacancy is due to the retirement of PJP Hanaman as the non-judicial member of the human rights panel.
Nongpluh is currently the state chief information commissioner and his tenure will end on December 2.
Zila Sainik Welfare Officer
The cabinet also approved the selection of Lt. Col. Shabestian Marbaniang (Retd.) as the Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Shillong for a period of 5 years.
