NIA chargesheet against HNLC leader Bobby Marwein, three others
Shillong, Sept 6: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has chargesheeted four from the HNLC in connection with the IED blast in 2020 in East Jaintia Hills.
PTI from New Delhi, quoting a spokesperson, said that self-styled chairman and commander-in-chief of HNLC Bobby Marwein alias Regan Marwein, self-styled Finance-cum-Socio Cultural Secretary Marius Rynjah alias Hep Koit and publicity secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw alias Deng Deng who are currently residing Bangladesh, were charge sheeted by a special court in the city.
The associate of the trio, Emmanuel Suchen alias Shwa, was also chargesheeted.
They were booked under sections of Indian Penal Code, Explosive Substances Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Earlier, the HNLC’s role was suspected in the blast that took place behind staff quarters of Star Cement Factory in East Jaintia Hills for failing to pay following the extortion demand.
After the case was registered in December 2020 at Lumshnong police station, it was taken up by the NIA in March last year.
